Lunch + Fashion Show at Soul Bar
On the 11th of August, it was a very cold and wet morning. Most people headed to work, or university or school. However, I was lucky to get to go the Treliese Cooper Fashion show at Soul Bar in the Viaduct, in Auckland City, as we got the tickets early. The whole show was fun, and it included a 3 course menu, a glass of G.H Mumms Champagne (which I had 2 glasses of), a goody bag, and of course, the fashion show.
I got up early in the morning and put on a nice and formal dress, put on some accessories as well as applying makeup. Once that was done, we headed of into the city and made our way to SOUL, an expensive but hugely popular restaurant in the viaduct. On arrival, we were shown to our seats (we were placed on a shared table) and was served a glass of Champagne. Our allocated seats also came with a goody bag.
The first thing we were served was bread with butter (separately). The bread, which is served separately with butter was really good, with the bread being easy to eat and the butter was very soft and was a melt in the mouth kind of texture. While waiting for our actual starter to arrive, I whiled my time away on my phone and Discord, a popular messaging platform for gamers. Then around 20 minutes to half an hour later, our starter was served. We were served yellowfin tuna, which was served with smoked soy, wasabi and leek oil. It was absolutely delicious, the tuna was nice and it was very tender, and most of all, it was raw - exactly how I like my tuna. The sauce and the wasabi complimented the tuna and the wasabi was not overpowering.
Once we finished our starters, we waited again for quite a while for the main menu. During this time we put our name and contact details down onto a card in order to win prizes (unfortunately, I did not win this time round), and a staff member came and collected each of our entries. A while later, selecting one of the 2 options from the course menu, I chose grilled tarakihi, which was served with cherry tomatoes, fennel vinaigrette and soft herbs. It was delicious, the grilled fish was tender, there was no vegetable taste in the accompanying herbs and tomatoes and it was very easy to eat without bones or scales.
Shortly after the main course, Treliese Cooper came to speak about the show, and shortly after, the fashion show started, and it was a Spring 2020 Fashion show. Each model was wearing different Treliese Cooper garments, accessories and outfits, and many of which were exotic, bright, colorful and beautiful. Some of which were formal wear, while others were casual wear.
The fashion show lasted half an hour to 45 minutes, and after that, there was the prize draw, the winners were served 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes, and I was not one of them as mentioned earlier. We were treated to delicious dessert, which was an Espresso Martini Tiramisu pot. It was sweet, presumably boozy hence the name, nice and moist with a nice coffee flavor in it.
Finally, the show and lunch ended, and it lasted just over 2 hours. While the weather was miserable, cold and wet, the food was absolutely delicious, the fashion show was enjoyable, we got a goody bag and the champagne was really good. It was also nice and warm inside the restaurant as well.
It is absolutely worth going to, and I hope this event rolls around again next year.
