Review of my reversible Prada bucket hat

Review of my reversible Prada hat

Not too long ago, we decided to buy a bucket hat. This type of hat was one of those popular fashion trends that was  (and still continues to be) the craze of 2019 and 2020. Notable celebrities - such as Kylie Jenner - embrace the trend and, from time to time, are seen wearing them in their own posts on social media.

In part, because of the trend, and mostly because I didn't have a bucket hat before as a fashion accessory - in addition to designer bucket hats being fanciful and pretty, I decided that we should buy a bucket hat. And so we did, when we went to Prada to look for a bucket hat to buy.

I tried on a couple of hats, and eventually I found one that was the right size, and a colour that I liked. While I liked most of the colors, we decided that the reversible green bucket hat was the best one, because, not only that it was reversible, but it also fitted me. Since it was over a month ago, I cannot remember the exact cost of this hat, but it was quite pricey, being between six to seven hundred dollars (in New Zealand currency).

It was a nice shade of green that is easy to match, and it is very comfortable to wear. And I could wear the hat on either side, as well, which makes it versatile. Also, a bonus is that because the hat is green, it could be worn on St Patrick's day, to add a bit of glam to any St Patrick's Day outfit. The only downside of this hat is as it is made from nylon, which is a smooth material, it is easy for it to be blown away in wild weather, and it's not suitable for wearing in certain environments, or while partaking in some activities, especially those that are intensive. And I almost certainly wouldn't wear it to a beach, either.

Overall, I love this bucket hat, but I will have to be careful when it comes to the weather - and when to wear it out and where. And this hat can't be worn while doing any random activity - I would not wear it while roller skating or scooting, due to the risk of it being blown away, or the potential for damage should I fall over. And the colour is a good match for quite a lot of clothing - be it if I was to create a monochromatic green outfit, or if I was wanting to make an outfit more cheerful with a bright color, or if I was wanting to use either side to create a matching outfit for casual wear.

If you're into bucket hats, and something of high quality for causal, smart casual or even formal occasional wear, then this is the sort of hat for you. And remember, there are a range of colors that you can choose from in store. But, Prada is not available in every country, and for New Zealand, there is currently only one Prada store in Auckland (hence the perks of living in the Auckland region) that you can buy bucket hats from. Although the duty free store in the Auckland CBD sells Prada, they do not sell hats from this brand.
